Havyaka Brahmins are a small community with unique and dynamic culture living in the beautiful hills and valleys of Sahyadri (Western Ghats) mountain range, predominantly in Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Kodagu and Chikkamagalur districts of Karnataka for centuries.
Well known for its rich culture and highest order of tradition, Havyaka cannot be merely described as a sect of Brahmin religion. It is a rich cultural way of life. It is community well educated, cultured practising the principles of Adviata propagated by Shri Adi Shankaracharya. It has recorded footprints of its own not only in India but around the world.
